The use of cool roofs for the mitigation of heat attacks and the limitation of A/C use, especially for low income people was highlighted during the econews telecast of the Skai TV News Net on the 18th of July 2012.
On behalf of the technical services department from the Municipality of Kesariani, Mrs Irini Tambaki  descibed the benefits of  a cool roof case study, which was performmed into the frame of the Intelligent Energy European Programme, with the use of the Cool Barrier waterbased Roof coating system by Abolin Co.



On behalf of the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), the President Ph Mattheos Santamouris underlined the benefits of Cool Roofs, in terms of energy savings, improved thermal comfort conditions and Urban Heat Island phenomenon mitigation, the Chairman of Abolin Co, Mr Antonios Perdikis analyzed the fact that Cool Roofs are a cost benefit solution in comparison to a standard roofing system. 



The Mayor of Kesariani Mr Antonios Kambakas described the initiatives that the Municipality have taken for the impementation of works that are not limited to Cool Roof applications only but to cool materials for the urban environment also, such as the use of cool materials as pavements.
